Dosing Protocol
Lower initial doses (0.03-0.1mcg/kg/min) associated with less reflex tachycardia than higher doses (>0.3mcg/kg/min)
Do NOT use a bolus!!!
Initial dose should be titrated up or downward no sooner than every 15 minute

Most of the effect of a given infusion rate is attained by 15 minutes
Recommended increments for titration are 0.05-0.1mcg/kg/min
Can be stopped abruptly or weaned off
